A small update this month as we get ready for Christmas and the New Year. January 1st will bring the requirement for all sites to have an SSL certificate so they are not flagged as insecure by the browsers. We have the free SSL certificates with all shared hosting accounts so there is no excuse to be penalised by Google. recently it was also announced that Google will also start ranking sites based on mobile content above desktops.This means if your site is not mobile ready then it will be penalised even more than it has in the past. This shows that there is a big shift in the road ahead to mobile based browsing as the desktop usage becomes less and less. They still obviously play a very important part in the internet but the sheer numbers of people browsing the web via a mobile device is pushing people to make sure the browsing experience is as good as possible on any device.
